CANIBAL PUB
In 1998 Ruben (1977, Alicante) and business partner Roland (1972, Lyon, France) started Canibal Pub at their original Plaza Nueva location. In 2014 they found a new location at the beautiful Explanada de España. Previously a cachimba-bar! Ruben and Roland changed it totally to the colorful bar it is today. The bar has two outdoor terraces, one on the side street and an expansive table area on the famous boulevard. When I did the interview there was still construction work on the Explanada, but the terrace is expected to be open again in June 2021.
Canibal Pub has “un público diverso”, a diverse audience of all ages. They play dance music, popular hits and Spanish music. On Saturdays they have a DJ and before COVID lots of drag shows, live performances, and “Micro Teatro”.
Canibal Pub is the first and only venue in Spain organizing an international impressionist competition, called “Transformarte”, where the participants personify famous icons.
If things get back to normal in Summer 2021, Canibal Pub restarts its catamaran “Love Boat”, cruises with DJ. Tickets 45 Euro including drinks and snacks and the facilities to snorkel.
